A daydream brought to life

Reverie Media was founded in 2025 by Columbia College Chicago graduate, Daytona Higareda. It is the culmination of many of her passions—film, politics, sports, and literature—and the next step in pursuing her dream of creating media with impact.

From the Founder

“I developed a love for stories at a young age. Whether I was consuming them or creating them, I could always be found with my mind in another world. And— in the depths of my being— I always hoped to one day bring those worlds to life.

When I was younger, my stories helped me make sense of the real world and cope with things I couldn’t understand. As I got older, I began to realize that a story could also challenge the way I viewed things. I think back on stories like To Kill a Mockingbird and The House on Mango Street, my first introductions to impactful storytelling, and realize the importance of shining light on topics we tend to shy away from.

While many great stories are purely entertaining, media has an incredible ability to start conversations. Ones that are difficult but necessary. Ones that light a spark to revolutionizing the way we view the world. I feel a responsibility to be part of that work; to give voice to the voiceless and shed light in the corners society tries to ignore.

Reverie is a place for that. It is a media studio that seeks out stories that challenge viewers, while also encouraging and uplifting them. When the credits roll, our hope is that viewers have experienced laughter, joy, despair— everything that makes us human— and walk away with questions but feel inspired to find answers.”
